11th World Standards Day 2023 was held on 14 October, 2023 hosted by Ministry of Science and Technology, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Transport and Communications was delivered the speeches to this Event. Representatives from Deputy Minster and permanent secretary, Ministry of Science and Technology, National Standards Council Members, relevant Director Generals and Deputy Director Generals, Standards Technical Sub Committee Chairs and Secretaries, the participants from public and private sector, conformity assessment bodies (CABs) and the officials from department of research and innovation totally (90) persons were participated.
In 11th World Standards Day Event 2023, this event was intended to honor the cooperation of experts from the International Organization for Standardization – ISO, International Electro technical Commission – IEC and International Telecommunication Union-ITU in the development of international standards, to acknowledge the efforts of academics and professionals who are responsible for standards-setting fields around the world in terms of regional and national standards, to highlight the importance of published international standards, to recognize the key role international standards play in promoting of; trade, health, agriculture, science and technology exchanges, innovations between world-class countries and to facilitate trade and to educate by producing these standards. In panel discussion, the panelists were discussed about National Quality Infrastructure (NQI) including National Certification Body Processes, Adoption of standards from Food Stuff, Cosmetics, Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices technical sub-committees, Laboratories accredited aligned by ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and the importance of calibration services in industry sector to the participants. After that, the panelists were awarded certificates of honor by Deputy Minster, Ministry of Science and Technology.
