Seminar on “the result of JICA Verification Survey for Formulation of Rice Moisture Content Traceability System in Myanmar” was held on the afternoon of 21 May 2019 at the meeting room of National Metrology Institute of Myanmar (NIMM) under Ministry of Education on the Kabaaye Pagoda Road.
Director General U Win Khaing Moe for Department of Research and Innovation, Ministry of Education, Deputy Director General U Aung Mgg for Department of Consumers Affair (DOCA), Ministry of Commerce (MOC), President U Ye Min Aung and Vice President Dr. Myo Aung Kyaw from Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF), the representatives of MRF, JICA, KETT Electric Laboratory (Japan), Japan Development Service (JDS), NIMM, DOCA and the Invited guests attended the Seminar.
In this seminar, Director General U Win Khaing Moe, Deputy Director General U Aung Mgg, President U Ye Min Aung and Senior Representative Mr. Nobuo IWAI from JICA gave the addressed opening remarks respectively.
During the seminar, the representatives of NIMM and DOCA presented about the established status of Rice Moisture Laboratory and establishing the Rice Moisture testers Traceability System in Myanmar with the help of JICA.
Afterwards, the representatives of KETT Electric Laboratory and Japan Development Service (JDS) reported the saturation of the uses of Rice Moisture Testers in Myanmar and the results of Pilot Activity in the Survey. Then the responsible persons from relevant sectors answered to the questions of the attendees.
Primary Standard Laboratory for Rice Moisture Testers was established in NIMM at the Department of Research and Innovation, Ministry of Education, and Secondary Standard Laboratory was established in Commodity Testing and Quality Management Center (Hlegu), DOCA with the help of JICA.
Furthermore, awareness seminars on Rice Moisture Testers Traceability System Establishment were held in the cities of NayPyiTaw (Yezin), Sagaing Region, Bago Region and Ayeyarwady Region with the participation of Farmers, Millers, Traders and the responsible persons from DOCA and Department of Agriculture.
