Hosted by American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), the role of additive manufacturing in PPE shortage mitigation webinar was held on 23 February, 2022 via online system and the officials from Myanmar Standards Body under Department of Research and Innovation, the representatives from Department of Food and Drug Administration(FDA), Department of Public Health, Directorate of Industrial Collaboration, No.(1) Heavy Industrial Enterprise, Union of Myanmar Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Myanmar Engineering Council and Federation of Myanmar Engineering Societies had also been attended together with the total number of nearly 20 persons into the webinar. Accordingly, the speakers from ASTM and US(FDA) had also been shared the knowledge about ASTM History and Research Activities, collaborative effort on government, industry and academia, designs creation on additive PPE manufacturing and experimental methods and how to mitigate PPE shortage in community during the pandemic period etc. to the participants.
