On 10 July 2024, Meeting on Registration and Designation Procedures for Conformity Assessment Bodies-CABs was held at Ministry of Science and Technology, Naypyitaw, Union Minister, Ministry of Science and Technology, H.E Dr. MyoThein Kyaw was delivered the opening speech. Again, Department of Research and Innovation, Director General, Dr. Phyu Phyu Win had also shared the implementation status of National Certification System and way forward for action plans and the official from National Standards and Quality Department had also presented the registration and designation procedures for Conformity Assessment Bodies-CABs and the comments from relevant ministries about this procedure with mutual discussed with the participants. There are 100 participants including Deputy Minister and Permanent Secretary from Ministry of Science and Technology, National Standards Council Members such as Deputy Ministers and Permanent Secretary from relevant ministries, Standards Working Committee Members, representatives from relevant ministries, conformity assessment bodies, testing laboratories and the officials from Department of Research and Innovation had also attended.
