9th World Standards Day 2021 (Virtual Event) was held on 14 October, 2021 hosted by Ministry of Science and Technology, Union Minister was delivered the speeches to the ceremony via video conferencing system. Representatives from National Standards Council Members, Technical Sub Committee Members, Myanmar Computer Federation, Myanmar Engineer Council and Federation of Myanmar Engineering Societies, Union of Myanmar Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI), Consumer Protection and Myanmar Food Laboratory Network had also been participated.
Myanmar celebrated the 9th World Standards Day 2021 with the theme of “Shared Vision for a Better World” and then World Standards Day Event has been held all over the world since 1970 and Myanmar has celebrated the event since 2012 until now 9th World Standards Day 2021 Event has also been celebrated. It was also held not only to highlight the role of standards published International Organization for Standardization-ISO, International Electro technical Commission- IEC and International Telecommunication Union-ITU, to recognize the importance of standards for trade, health and agriculture, science and technology transfer and development among the countries all over the world but also to pay honor to the collaborative efforts of the thousands of experts worldwide who develop the voluntary technical agreements that are published as international standards.
To raise awareness the role of standards for government, industry and economic sectors of Myanmar, the role of National Quality Infrastructure (NQI) in Myanmar, National and International Cooperation and Collaboration Projects for Standards Development Process of Myanmar and Standardization Process with Wood Based Products of Myanmar had also been discussed to the participants.
