On 30 May 2023, Standards Working Committee (1/2023) Meeting was held on Meeting Hall, Ministry of Science and Technology, Naypyitaw and Union Minister, Ministry of Science and Technology, Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw was delivered the opening speech and Deputy Minister and permanent secretary from Ministry of Science and Technology had also attended the meeting with standards working committee members respectively. In the meeting, Chairman of Standards Working Committee, Director General, Department of Research and Innovation (DRI), Dr. Phyu Phyu Win was also shared the implementation status of strengthening National Quality Infrastructure (NQI), Proposal Standards, draft standards on relevant technical sub-committees, draft standards after public enquiry stage, the new structure of standard technical sub-committee for Gold Weight, for adoption of ASEAN Harmonized Standards- CASCO’s Standards with the standards working committee’s approval and the awareness program for model certification body had also been discussed from the officials from National Standards and Quality Department(NSQD) and totally about 40 participants including the members from relevant ministries, private association and also the officials from NSQD etc.
