World Accreditation Day (2024) was celebrated by the National Standards and Quality Department from the Department of Research and Innovation (DRI) under the Ministry of Science and Technology at the Assembly Hall of the Department of Research and Innovation, Yangon, on June 11, 2024. DRI organized this event as the third time of World Accreditation Day celebration in Myanmar.
The event commenced with an opening speech by the Director General of the Department of Research and Innovation. It was attended by more than 90 participants, including members of the National Standards Council, rectors from Technological and Computer Universities, Deputy Director Generals, and representatives from various organizations such as the Myanmar Engineering Council (MES), UMFCCI, Myanmar Computer Federation (MCF), and Myanmar Food Laboratory Network (MFLN) as well as relevant ministries and private organizations involved in the area of conformity assessment.
The purpose of this event is to raise the development of accreditation activities to be in line with international requirements as the accreditation sector is one of the key pillars of the National Quality Infrastructure. It also focused on enhancing coordination and cooperation with regulatory authorities to promote the recognition and acceptance of accredited conformity assessment results.
