The staff from Department of Research and Innovation, Ministry of Education visited to QI institutions of Finland from October 4 to 12, 2019, to study the international experiences and practices in standardization, accreditation and metrology for the implementation of Quality Infrastructure in Myanmar. Department of Research and Innovation(DRI) has already initiated three bodies: National Standards Body, National Accreditation Body and National Institute of Metrology to strengthen National Quality Infrastructure. During this study tour, they visited to Quality Infrastructure(QI) Institution such as VTT National Metrology Institute MIKES on 7th October, Finish Accreditation Services (FINAS) on 8th October, Finish Standards Association(SFS) on 9th October, Finnish Food Authority, Laboratory and Research Division on 10th October and Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency (TUKES) for legal metrology and market surveillance on 11st October, 2019. The Study Tour were sponsored by PTB within the framework of the project “Strengthening Quality Infrastructure in Myanmar” in collaboration between PTB and the Department of Research and Innovation(DRI).
